Army has attached a Brigadier serving in north Kashmir for his alleged “improper relations with a woman.
Official sources said that the officer who commanded a brigade near Line of Control in north Kashmir was attached last week with Srinagar Sub-Area of 15 Corps Headquarters. However, they said the accused officer had completed his term and new commander has joined in North Kashmir. “Before he could join new place of posting, he was attached.
“The woman with whom the officer is alleged to have had links was under the surveillance of Military Intelligence (MI) for some period, a report by Indian Express said, quoting sources in Srinagar-based 15 Corps Headquarters.
“Sources say it was an adverse MI report on the activities of the woman which led to a watch being kept on the Brigade Commander, following which more incriminating evidence was found, added the report.
It said in October, a Brigadier who had been commanding a Brigade in the North East was punished with 10 years of loss of seniority and given severe reprimand after a court martial found him guilty of improper relations with an Army Colonel’s wife.
